New events page

Thanks to Cpl. Phil Gilbert for updating our events page.  I'm updating it again.  Now, each event has its own page, with a link to Google Maps so you can explore the site and get customized driving directions.  I will update these pages with more detailed info about each event as we get closer.

The events page also has a new "tab" with a single map showing all the sites.  Cool, huh?  Future plans include adding another tab with a calendar.

Stolen Trailer

Dear Fellow Living History Family,

$1,000 reward leading to the arrest/conviction of the person(s) who stole the Fatula’s trailer, which contained over $30,000 of stock.

If you have any information, please contact Joe or Mary at 408-591-4034 or reward@lumenaris.com

Please pass this on to all your history connections to be on the looking for anyone selling the trailer of any “Lumemaris” items for sale by someone other than Joe or Mary Fatula.

Thank you,

Sharon Daugherty

Upcoming Events

Sergeant Sez

Thank you to everyone who turned out for Roaring Camp.  We had a great turnout - the best of the year so far.  We had lots of fresh fish and I hope to see you all again.

Friends, Romans, Countrymen:

We're less than a month away from the Gettysburg 150th.  So far we have 20 people in our group, including myself.  However, only four have expressed interest in a van and only two have expressed interest in ordering powder through me.  I'm only going to order based on the requests I receive.  If you don't let me know now, you're on your own.  The event is about 90 minutes away from the nearest airport by car, and I have no idea if anyone will have rounds for sale at the site.

We're only a few days away from Roaring Camp!  Please read the event schedule, site map, and rules (attached).

Some last minute reminders:

69th New York, Company B,

The time has come to request RSVP's from you as to your intention to attend the Roaring Camp event that is coming up. The event will take place the weekend of May 26th and 27th, with the entire event going from Saturday to Monday, due to the long weekend. There is also School Days which start on May 22nd. (Though Im not sure if we will attend the school days as a company.)

Sergeant Sez

Thank you to everyone who turned out at Mariposa.  It was a small group but we had a good time.  We got to beat the snot out of the CS Marines again and there was a lovely twilight battle as well.  Special greetings to David and Nicole; it was a pleasure having both of you join us and we hope to see you again.

Next ACWA event is Roaring Camp.  It's our smallest event, but still one of the best.  A ride on the steam train, a day of skirmishing on Bear Mountain, and the ball.  What more could you want?

Mariposa: Second Call

Sergeant Sez

I'm skipping first call because we're only a week and a half away from the event.  If you're coming, please let me know now.  Remember to tell me:

  • Which days you'll be there
  • Whether you want meals

RSVP to me for this one.

Mariposa is our absolute best event.  The site can't be beat, there will be cavalry and mobile artillery.  Last year we did a hand-to-hand with the CS Marines.

March Update

Greetings all!  In this edition we have an update from the event organizers, and some FAQ's, including a call to action.
