March Edition

Captain's Corner

The 2012 season has begun!  We had another great event at the Fort.  To those who didn't make it, you were missed.

The good news: we've got a couple events coming up in March, including our first shooting event of the year!  I've got election results below, and some more news.

Benicia

The event is on March 3rd in the town of Benicia. We would like to see if we can have 40 Union troopers attend, new reenactors are encouraged. It is requested that all attendees please arrive at 9 AM. The event starts at 10AM.  Bringing a lunch in your haversack is suggested.  There are efforts to obtain lunch discounts from local restaurants, we hope to have more on this shortly.

********Is it requested that each attendee RVSP to Provost Sgt Gray at acwargray@gmail.com and direct any questions to him.

Please note that the Adjutant's office will be available at this event to process all safety tests.

Please see the attached flyer that details the event.

Knight's Ferry

One of our favorite events!  This year it will be 3/24 - 3/25.  I will be coming on Friday with the trailer and all the gear.  Looks like we may have one or two old-timers joining us again.  Stay tuned for more details.

Fort Point

Our return to Ft. Point has tentatively been set for August 18.  This will be a one day event.  Save the date.

Election Results

Here are the results of our annual meeting at Ft. Point.  We elected officers and voted on other matters:

Captain: Jordan Koplowicz

1st Sergeant: James Feaga

Corporal: Josh Zollo

St. Patrick's Day Parade: There's not enough interest in the parade this year, so we won't be marching.  Hopefully next year.

Song books: Per Captain's proposal, we will now be giving away song books as a benefit to members of the 69th NY.  One book per family.  Also, you can hear most of the songs online for free here: http://everyonesmixtape.com/mxt/frMyLDa4vv

Musket for Sale

Ernie Manzo has a friend who wants to sell an Enfield musket for $450.  That's a good price, if anyone is interested.  dragoon5228@yahoo.com
