Realtime Civil War

Tweeting the Civil War in real time as it happened exactly 150 years ago. You can follow it here, or via Twitter, Facebook, or the RSS feed.

Tip of the hat to @RealTimeWWII, @RosiesWWII, and @SamuelPepys for the inspiration. Special thanks to the New York Times, who embedded reporters with front-line troops 150 years ago. Also special thanks to the editors of the Times' compendium on CW articles. I did not copy that book, but found it to be inspirational, and I highly recommend it to any history buff. Reading through those pages, you get a real sense of the war as an immediate thing with an uncertain end . . . which is what I've tried to recreate here.

This site is run by Jordan Koplowicz and hosted by the 69th New York Co. B, a reenactor's group in Northern California.
